Board of Directors
Barry Caplan — Chief Executive Officer
Barry founded NeoLithica in July 2021, but the idea behind it goes back further. A geologist by training, with an honours degree in Geological Sciences from McGill University, Barry spent his career working across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin in both petroleum and metallic minerals — experience that led him, as early as 2015, to recognize the opportunity to recover lithium from brines in Alberta's Devonian-age carbonate formations. Barry leads NeoLithica's capital formation, corporate partnerships, and overall development strategy. He's also the founding Chairman of the Canadian Lithium Association, which has since grown into the Battery Metals Association of Canada.
Chris Wolfenberg — Chairman & Legal Advisor
Chris is a corporate securities and M&A lawyer and a Partner at Dentons Canada LLP, bringing two decades of experience representing junior and mid-tier resource issuers on the TSX and TSXV. He has structured convertible debt instruments, private placements, and international asset-backed financing for resource companies, and he oversees NeoLithica's corporate governance, legal architecture, and capital markets compliance.
Mitchell Smith — Lead Director & Strategic Advisor
Mitchell is a recognized executive in the battery metals and energy transition supply chain, with relationships that connect NeoLithica to international battery-manufacturing and institutional investment networks. He sits on the boards of several mineral exploration companies and is a board member of the Battery Metals Association of Canada.
Mark Preston — Government & Indigenous Relations
Mark is a marketing executive with a track record in domestic and international capital raising and public outreach. He leads NeoLithica's community engagement and government relations, building the relationships with local stakeholders and Indigenous communities.
