NeoLithica is proud to contribute to Alberta’s transition to a sustainable, low carbon, energy driven economy.

Alberta will take a leading role in the global energy transformation by leveraging its leading industry expertise – from resource management to project financing – through its diverse and highly skilled workforce.

The government of Alberta has introduced a Minerals strategy and action plan, that highlights the province’s economic mineral potential, positioning it as a preferred producer of critical minerals needed to meet the global transformation in the use of clean energy. As part of this strategy, Alberta has created a dedicated regulatory framework that will encourage investment, ensure the highest environmental stewardship standards, while helping to diversify the economy and create good jobs.

The framework has taken form in new legislation, the Mineral Resource Development Act (Bill 82), that establishes the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) as the lead authority for the province's mineral resources, with responsibility to oversee the mineral industry from exploration to remediation. It will also include resource conservation statutes around the industry.

Alberta’s economy is strong and growing, leveraging its leadership in energy, clean teach and agriculture. Alberta is also diversifying by capitalizing on its growth in the technology, financial services, aviation and logistics and tourism sectors. Alberta is a perfect place to invest as it benefits from business-friendly policies including:

  • stable fiscal and regulatory environment,

  • low corporate tax burden, with a corporate tax rate of 8% the lowest in the country,

  • pro-business climate with the highest economic freedom in Canada as ranked by the Fraser Institute.

Alberta is a leader in energy decarbonization, having made large strides in reducing the carbon intensity of its electricity grid, as well as its oil and gas sector. This is being achieved through a series of targeted reductions, a transition away from coal, the development of world-scale renewable energy projects, investment in a growing carbon capture, use and storage industry and the emergence of a lithium-focused critical minerals sector.
